The book

Our holiday reading for you.

THE SLEEPER

It begins with a postcard that Jonas never wrote.
A mysterious line to Tessa – and their life together spirals out of control.

What follows is a journey between San Francisco and India, a journey through memories, coincidences, and dream sequences. The closer they get to the origin of the mysterious map, the more the line between reality and longing blurs. Ultimately, Jonas and Tessa must decide if their love is strong enough for a path that, until now, has only existed in their dreams.

"The Sleeper" is an atmospheric love story about longing, second chances, and the quiet messages of life.

The story behind it

Since our very first trip, we've had a small, very romantic – and slightly nerdy – tradition:
Afterwards, Torben always sends me a postcard home. With a picture of us. Each one is designed differently. Each time a new style.

At the end of November, I wake up in the morning next to a very excited Torben.
He dreamt he was in India with his best friend. And he really was in India: vibrant colors, spices in the air, markets, elephants, that whole "we should book flights immediately" feeling.

Still half asleep, I naturally think of my postcard wall and ask quite naturally:
"Did you send me another postcard?"

He looks at me with a very sleepy expression. "No."

Two seconds later: creative explosion.
"But that would make a great movie plot! A rom-com. With that Ashton Kutcher vibe."

I thought so too.
And he said quite dryly: "Then we'll probably need a book first."

Long story short:
Here it is. Our book together.

And who knows – maybe one day someone will be sitting in a cinema with popcorn, watching our little story as a rom-com.
With a bit of Magic Realm energy, a lot of wanderlust, and of course at least one postcard in the credits.
